Responsibilities
- Maintains building mechanical systems by inspection, performing prescribed maintenance tasks and reporting abnormal conditions.
- TYPICAL DUTIES:
- In accordance with departmental safety standards:
- Performs all required inspections of building mechanical equipment and components, ensuring that equipment is in safe and efficient operating condition.
- Tests static and dynamic balance and vibration, current draw and temperatures; tests for leaks.
- Reports abnormal conditions for further action.
- Replaces and aligns belts and couplers, replaces pulleys. Makes minor adjustments, including tightening nuts, bolts and screws.
- Lubricates equipment and components. Cleans and replaces filters.
- Cleans and paints equipment and components and mechanical areas; seals mechanical area floors.
- Keeps records and makes reports of maintenance performed, condition of equipment, repairs needed, materials used and the like.
Qualifications
- High School education plus 3-5 years experience as a general maintenance mechanic or 2-3 years experience as a mechanic, preventive maintenance mechanic; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Environmental Protection Agency Refrigerant Certification required
