Item Processing Specialist

About the role

Process deposit, loan, and general ledger account activities utilizing an image-based system. Perfect transactional data, monitor multiple input and output channels, and create and track output files to post transactions and clear transit work. Balance work streams and generate associated reporting. Process various aspects of item processing deposit transactions and ensure all presented transactions are handled timely and accurately.

• Determine necessary actions to correct errors using image-based processing solutions.
• Operate Check 21 scanning equipment and act as a resource for Check 21 capture troubleshooting via phone and email; escalate issues as appropriate.
• Verify transmittals to work bundles and prepare cash letters and endpoint summaries for outgoing paper and image cash letter transmissions within established deadlines.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely escalation of all Item Processing production issues to the Item Processing lead or manager.
• Balance and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Research and reconcile all out-of-balance customer transactions, such as duplicate postings or encoding errors.
• Perform data entry and uploads.
• Adapt positively to change and embrace new technology supporting the bank’s vision and business strategy.
• Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions through coursework and on-the-job training; stay updated on regulation changes.
• Follow all Bank policies, procedures, and compliance regulations; complete required annual or job-specific training.
• Maintain knowledge of Bank’s written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations.
• Actively learn, demonstrate, and foster the corporate culture in all actions and words.
• Take personal initiative and serve as a positive example for others.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• 2-4 years of banking experience or equivalent (required).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team with minimal direction.
• Related experience and/or product knowledge.
• Ability to use basic office equipment and 10-key by touch.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Thorough knowledge of check capture software and equipment (preferred).
• PC literate in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Primary work location: 24021 E MISSION AVE STE 200, Liberty Lake, WA 99019-9529. Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s).

Pay

The pay range for this role is $18.00 - $24.50 per hour. The pay rate for the selected candidate depends on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, with details provided during the recruitment process.
