IT - University of South Carolina - Network Engineer - Project Lead
About the role
The Network Engineer - Project Lead role supports an increased workload during a reorganization, focusing on network operations and infrastructure support. This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension, requiring candidates to be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues through monitoring, analysis, and root cause investigation.
- Investigate and resolve network incidents through remote analysis and field-based troubleshooting.
- Escalate complex issues as appropriate and participate in on-call support activities.
- Perform routine maintenance activities, including system upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation, network diagrams, incident records, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with network engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to support reliable technology services.
- Support and maintain network security technologies, including firewalls and VPNs.
- Aid in troubleshooting and responding to security-related incidents.
- Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switching, routing, and connectivity services.
- Perform field installation and deployment of network equipment, including configuring, racking, stacking, cabling, and testing switches.
Requirements
- Citizenship: US Citizen or Legal Resident.
- Location: South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to South Carolina before starting the role at their own expense.
