Summary
As an IT Technician you play a crucial role in providing onsite technical assistance to end-users, troubleshooting desktop-related issues, and ensuring smooth operations, in a fast-paced environment, across our organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues
- Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support
- Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources
- Follow up with customers, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution
- Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure usability
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of tickets
- Identify and implement procedure modifications and improvements
- Manage technical documentation
- Work with and coordinate IT vendors
- Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience as an IT Technician or similar role, preferably in the U.S. defense industry
- Strong background in Microsoft enterprise environments (Windows workstations/servers, Microsoft 365)
- Hands-on experience with PC hardware, networking technologies, and enterprise IT services (e.g., Wi-Fi, VLAN, VPN, VoIP, 802.1x)
- Proficiency with Windows configuration, Active Directory, and Group Policy
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven client-facing support experience
- Effective multitasking, prioritization, and problem ownership with a focus on results
- Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of hire
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience documenting IT processes, standard operating procedures, and technical workflows
- Familiarity with compliance requirements in defense-related IT environments (e.g., NIST 800-171, DFARS, CMMC)

Clearance Requirements

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area.
- Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions.
- The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending.
- Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone.
- Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile.
- Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment.
- Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
