About the role

An IT Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting an organization's computer systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure. They provide technical assistance to employees, resolve IT issues, and help ensure systems remain secure and operational.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, system, and network-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to users through onsite, remote, and phone-based assistance.
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, and system credentials to ensure secure access.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, technical documentation, and service records.
  • Support the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Guide users on technology best practices, security awareness, and company IT policies.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and basic Linux operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and customer support skills with a user-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with IT security and data protection best practices to support a secure technology environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certifications, or equivalent technical credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant IT experience.
  • Experience with common IT tools and software, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and network management software.

Skills

  • Technical proficiency with Windows, macOS, and basic Linux operating systems.
  • Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Customer service and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Security awareness and best practices.
