Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users via phone, email, remote, or in-person
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to desktop and laptop systems, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipment
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and security patches
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and other relevant systems
- Configure, monitor, and maintain local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), ensuring secure and reliable connectivity across multiple locations
- Troubleshoot network routing, switching, wireless, and VPN connectivity issues
- Manage company-wide network security tools, firewalls, and filtering
- Aid in the planning, testing, and implementation of new technologies, including hardware, software, and network upgrades
- Document and maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, support requests, resolutions, and system/network configurations
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on the effective use of desktop systems and software applications
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance technical knowledge and skills
- Maintain IT policies, procedures, and security guidelines to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of organizational data and compliance standards
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 1 to 3 years proven experience as an IT Systems Specialist, Network Technician, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and software applications (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, DNS filter management, antivirus software, etc.)
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and hands-on experience managing network infrastructure (switches, routers, wireless access points)
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to patiently and effectively interact with end-users and provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar certifications are desirable
