About the role
At Gothic Landscape, we seek an IT Business Systems Specialist/Analyst who understands the intersection of technology and real-world operations. The ideal candidate will bridge construction operations and technology, analyze and improve workflows, and lead the adoption of systems that enhance field execution.
Responsibilities
- Bridge Construction Operations & Technology
- Partner with teams across construction, field operations, finance, and IT
- Translate business needs into functional requirements, system workflows, and technical specifications
- Act as the primary liaison between field stakeholders and technical teams
- Analyze & Improve Operational Workflows
- Evaluate processes related to job costing, estimating, scheduling, dispatch, and project tracking
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend ERP-driven or system-based solutions
- Drive process improvement, automation, and scalability
- Lead Requirements & Documentation
- Gather requirements via stakeholder interviews, workshops, and field engagement
- Develop process maps, user stories, use cases, and system documentation
- Ensure alignment between business needs and technical delivery
- Support Systems (ERP / CRM / Field Service Platforms)
- Support implementation and optimization of ERP, CRM, HRIS, or field service management systems
- Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing), system configuration, and deployment
- Possess strong collaboration skills with vendors and internal teams on integrations and enhancements
- Drive Adoption & Training
- Lead change management and user adoption efforts
- Develop training materials and support end users in operational environments
- Continuously improve usability and system effectiveness
- Leverage Data & Reporting
- Analyze operational data, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Support reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Translate data into actionable insights for leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Business, or related field
- 3+ years as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or IT Business Analyst
- Direct experience supporting construction, field service, landscaping, utilities, or similar operational industries
- Hands-on experience with at least one:
- ERP systems (Vista, Sage, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc.)
- Field service or scheduling platforms
- Job costing or project-based systems
- Experience gathering and documenting functional and technical requirements
