Position Description
The IT Systems Engineer II role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house and cloud information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by designing, building, managing, and supporting the infrastructure services that underpin all internal user services and services to the public. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Position Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience.
- Certifications in Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate and VMware VCP-DCV (Professional) are required.
- ITIL certification is preferred.
- Good Knowledge of infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, reporting, and ability to adopt industry best practices and build high-performance infrastructures that are self-healing, scalable & resilient.
- Knowledge in Azure cloud infrastructure with hands-on experience using Azure resources and Services.
- Also good knowledge of Platform Sizing, Infrastructure Cost Reduction.
- Good working experience and knowledge in configuring Dell Server/Storage Hardware.
- Good working experience and knowledge in setting up and deploying Forward/Reverse Proxies.
- Good working experience and knowledge in VMware vSphere (6.x - 7.x) Hypervisor, including VMware NSX, Storage vSAN, and iSCSI targets.
- Microsoft DirSync/Azure AD Connect, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, GPO, SRS, FRS, RADIUS, Microsoft NLB, Microsoft Failover Clustering, IIS, Microsoft PKI/CA/SSL certificate infrastructure.
- Microsoft RDS (Farms, RDSH, RDG, RDWA, NPS (CAP & RAP), RDCB, and UPD).
- Microsoft SQL Database Administration (SQL queries, SQL PROCs, Database health maintenance, performance, backup, restore), SQL Server 2012, 2014, and 2019.
- Scripting in Python or a similar general-purpose scripting environment (VBS, PowerShell, and Batch/CMD scripting).
- Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 Datacenter OS level.
- Manage Exchange Servers 2016 and 2019 in DAG (Database Availability Group) environment (Client Access, Hub Transport, and Mailbox rules).
- Networking Knowledge (Preferred CCNA Level).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis.
- Help plan, maintain, and improve Infrastructure BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery).
- Strong system administration (Linux/Unix and Windows) at the command-line level.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

Essential Duties
- Support and assist the IT Infrastructure Manager in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the other IT team members, with a specific focus on infrastructure service delivery and life cycle management.
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures set by the IT leadership.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain the enterprise’s infrastructure, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery Plan set by the IT Infrastructure manager and IT leadership.
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures, manuals, and help sheets for all IT infrastructure systems.
- Support the development and implementation of the in-house and cloud Infrastructure systems projects and new technology installations.
- Research cloud and in-house datacenter infrastructure products, services, and standards in support of IT infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud/in-house hosted systems and solutions for purchase.
- Write technical specifications for the purchase of infrastructure systems.
- IT infrastructure. You know about information security and the security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.
- You know about modern standards approach.
- You own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.
- You investigate problems in systems, processes, and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem (for example, strategic, tactical, operational).
- You contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.

- You understand the core technical concepts related to the role and can apply them under guidance.

Physical Work Classification & Demands
- Light Work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type.
- Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer.
- Frequently communicate with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.

Compensation Range (Colorado Only)
Base salary: $79,230.00 - $87,570.00 USD annually
