About the role
The IT Systems Administrator (IT Infrastructure Consultant) position supports the energy management system within the Energy Management and Market Solutions (EMMS) group. This role involves planning, designing, and implementing various device and system configurations, as well as operating and supporting these systems. Responsibilities also include developing knowledge of systems, equipment, and supporting applications, maintaining key performance and process metrics, and effectively communicating to perform job duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and engineer various device and system configurations utilizing prescribed methods.
- Implement, operate and support various devices and systems utilizing prescribed methods.
- Perform routine systems work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
- Work under direction of supervisor or Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant who screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems.
- Develop working knowledge of systems, equipment, and supporting applications, and how they support the business.
- Maintain key performance and process metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures, and systems, generally under the direction of senior staff.
- Effectively use various forms of communication to successfully perform job duties.
- Perform on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation.
- May require travel to other locations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets requires meeting all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, including a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related degree.
- Strong technical knowledge of firewall administration and configuring and monitoring network equipment.
