About the role
The IT Systems Administrator/Engineer is a hands-on technical expert responsible for supporting identity systems, provisioning devices, and maintaining secure, reliable Information Technology operations across both in-office and remote environments. The administrator also enables cloud-based infrastructure, conference room technology, and core networking to ensure seamless collaboration and system performance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Champion Enterprise Values: Lead with and model SSB&T’s core values, embedding them into data strategy, governance, and team culture
- Integrate SaaS applications into SSO platforms
- Implement and maintain MFA and basic conditional access policies
- Troubleshoot authentication, login, and identity-related issues
- Ensure identity systems remain secure, reliable, and aligned with company policies
- Provision and configure workstations, laptops, and mobile devices (Mac and Windows)
- Apply and manage device policies
- Set up and support Wi-Fi networks, VPN clients, and basic networking
- Configure and troubleshoot printers, peripherals, and office technology
- Maintain accurate asset inventory and lifecycle documentation
- Operate within cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Manage virtual machines, file storage, and backup processes
- Maintain infrastructure health and escalate issues when needed
- Set up and maintain Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms
- Configure and support AV equipment including displays, cameras, microphones, and speakers
- Troubleshoot live meeting issues and ensure reliable hybrid meeting experiences
Candidate Requirements
- 5 – 7 years of in Information Technology systems administration or engineering
- Hands-on SSO implementation experience (DUO, Okta, or Entra ID)
- Direct experience with device provisioning and system set up (not just support)
- Experience supporting remote workforce environments and collaboration tools
- Strong understanding of identity management, role-based access, endpoint management, and Information Technology operations
- Experience with Mac and Windows device provisioning
- Experience with Intune, Jamf, or similar MDM/endpoint management tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers
- Able to work independently, proactively, and resourcefully
- Able to adapt to growing business needs and structural changes
Candidate Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mid-size companies (200 – 2,000 employees), MSPs, or scaling startups
- Familiarity with Azure AD/Entra ID, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments
- Experience supporting Zoom Rooms or Microsoft teams Rooms
- Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Exposure to security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Experience using SAML and OAuth
- Experience with identity access management and MFA systems (DUO, Okta, and/or Microsoft Entra ID)
- Experience with managing VOIP phone systems (Zoom, Teams, or similar)
- Strong documentation habits and process-oriented mindset
