About the role
Kinkaid Civil Construction is a 100% employee-owned, family-run heavy civil construction company specializing in underground utility installation, earthwork, and infrastructure construction throughout Arizona and Utah. We are seeking an experienced and solutions-driven IT Systems Administrator to support and maintain the technology infrastructure that keeps our operations running efficiently across both office and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain company servers, virtualization platforms, and core infrastructure systems
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and print services
- Maintain system performance, reliability, and uptime
- Perform system upgrades, patching, maintenance, and optimization
- Aid in infrastructure planning and technology improvements that support company growth
- Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and security platforms
- Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, and access controls
- Support Microsoft Azure resources, virtual machines, storage, and networking
- Aid in cloud migrations and modernization initiatives
- Support firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPN connectivity, and overall network performance
- Aid in cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and security policy enforcement
- Support backup systems, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity efforts
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues
- Support office and field personnel with advanced technology needs
- Lead and assist with infrastructure projects, including server migrations, network upgrades, cloud initiatives, and technology deployments
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and support procedures
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Network Administration, or similar IT infrastructure roles
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 Administration
- Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred VMware and/or Hyper-V experience
- Cybersecurity, Microsoft, Azure, or networking certifications
- Experience supporting multi-location organizations
- Construction, engineering, or field operations industry experience
