IT Systems Administrator
About the role
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and improving the organization’s technology systems, with a focus on infrastructure, connectivity, security, and system performance. This role ensures that systems across engineering, production, service, and business operations are reliable, secure, and scalable.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & systems management
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and enterprise systems across office and production environments.
- Manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure) and ensure system performance and uptime.
- Support and optimize engineering and business software platforms.
- Network & connectivity
- Maintain reliable connectivity across office, shop floor, and remote/service locations.
- Configure and support networks, wireless systems, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Ensure secure and stable access for remote users and field-based team members.
- User support & device management
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot system and user issues across departments.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and device setup, including onboarding of new team members.
- Support laptops, mobile devices, and tools used in office and field environments.
- Security, backup & continuity
- Implement cybersecurity practices, including patching, endpoint protection, and access controls.
- Maintain backup systems and support disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure secure data management and support compliance with security expectations.
- Systems improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, automation, and workflows as the company grows.
- Support implementation of business systems (ERP, CRM, service tools).
- Develop and implement business intelligence reporting and dashboards, and support solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, etc.).
- Maintain documentation, processes, and asset tracking to support scalability.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows environments (server and desktop); Linux experience is a plus.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or similar systems.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Experience supporting engineering or manufacturing systems is a plus.
- Exposure to ERP or other business system implementations preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt in a growing environment.

Pay Range
The pay range for this role is: 65,000 - 80,000 USD per year (Main Office)
