Responsibilities
- Works with vendors and supervisors to order hardware including laptops, desktops, MDTs, VDI environments, printers, mobile mounting equipment, modems, antennas, and network equipment for employees in a geographical region or corporate locations.
- Identifies requirements for computer images and configurations to maximize productivity and reliability; may assist in the design, testing, and implementation of standard images.
- Provides project management on software/hardware upgrades and enhancements.
- Logs, troubleshoots, updates, and follows through on incidents and requests, including escalated incidents, until final resolution is reached.
- May establish and maintain wireless communications for field users including WMR, handheld devices, and modems.
- Uses software management tools to update and deliver software applications to field computers; maintains security and encryption software.
- Participates on teams with other divisions or Shared Services to evaluate, deploy, and support enterprise solutions.
- Acts as a liaison with end users to keep them advised regarding upcoming technology changes and strategies.
- Coordinates and assists with maintaining an inventory of company IT assets.
- May support telecom equipment including phone systems and patch panel facilities in field offices and corporate offices.
- Assists in the implementation, testing, and configuration of corporate hardware and software computer systems.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and resolves problems associated with maintaining high availability levels of hardware, laptops, tablets, and computer software to maintain enterprise standards.
- Coordinates with vendors or contractors to assure proper implementation of hardware, related systems, and infrastructure.
- Keeps abreast of technology changes and makes recommendations on technical changes, training, and adoption rates to improve operating efficiencies.
- Provides training to field and corporate offices on desktops, laptops, tablets, and basic software functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT and two years of related experience; or a high school diploma or GED and four years of related experience.
- Valid driver's license.
Skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Proficiency in performing analyses involving ratios, percentages, and comparisons.
- Knowledge of various software applications to create documents, reports, and graphics.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds from the ground to 34 inches (e.g., servers and equipment).
- Ability to lift 20 pounds from the ground to 72 inches (e.g., monitors and equipment to storage).
- Ability to lift 25 pounds from the ground to 57 inches (e.g., batteries and equipment).
- Ability to ascend/descend 3 rungs on a ladder.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.
- Occasionally performs activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and lifting objects up to 100 pounds (e.g., moving telephone and workstation equipment).
Work Conditions
Works primarily in an indoor environment. Travel is required.
