IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST I

Knowledge of and the ability to install, configure and maintain PC hardware, peripheral and application software.

• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suite programs.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot PC hardware, software and peripherals to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to learn software packages and software tools.
• Ability to work with confidential data and maintain such confidence.
• Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing to a diverse employee population.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other City employees.

Desirable Experience And Training:

• Graduation from a standard high school or an equivalent recognized certificate.
• A minimum of one (1) years of experience in a technical position supporting PC hardware, peripheral and software.
• A+ certification preferred.

License and Certifications:

• Must successfully obtain an ITIL Foundation certification (current version) within one (1) year of hire date.
