IT Support Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical support for employees across multiple locations with the main location being at our Provo campus. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable systems, supporting end users, and assisting with network, infrastructure, and communication systems. This position also offers the opportunity to grow into systems administration and assist with internal application support and development over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1–2 technical support for hardware, software, and user accounts
- Troubleshoot issues on Windows devices and Chromebooks
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding (account setup, access, equipment)
- Respond to support requests in a timely and professional manner
- Aid in maintaining WiFi and network infrastructure using UniFi equipment
- Support low-voltage tasks such as device setup, patching, and cable organization
- Help monitor system performance and escalate issues as needed
- Assist with maintenance of Asterisk-based phone system
- Troubleshoot call quality, device connectivity, and voicemail issues
- Manage user accounts, devices, and permissions in Google Workspace
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and documentation
- Support security practices such as updates, patching, and access control
- Assist with internal systems and tools as needed
- Opportunity to learn and contribute to scripting, automation, or application support (including PHP-based systems)
- Participate in process improvement and documentation efforts
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or a related field
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting Windows environments
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Google Workspace administration
- Familiarity with UniFi or similar networking equipment
- Basic understanding of networking (WiFi, switches, routers)
- Experience with VoIP or SIP-based phone systems (Asterisk a plus)
- Familiarity with scripting or programming concepts
- Exposure to PHP or interest in learning application development
Compensation
$45,000 – $55,000 annually, depending on experience
