IT Support- Intern

About the role

Works with the Information Technology department to provide assistance and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist users with general how-to questions (typically Microsoft Office applications, printers, Internet Explorer).
• Install/update various applications on workstations and laptops.
• Test/troubleshoot problems reported by users, research issues, find solutions, and implement fixes.
• Assist IT staff with maintaining hardware, network, and servers.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of freshman year toward a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or similar field.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to calculate simple figures and amounts and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Knowledge of database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance.
• Must regularly lift and move 25 pounds, frequently lift and move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds (team lifting or mechanical advantage preferred for over 50 pounds).
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
