About the role

OpsTech IT provides nonstop global IT support to Amazon Operations. We are looking for self-motivated individuals to take on new challenges and motivate teams in fostering solutions to the hurdles we face.

Responsibilities

  • Use your knowledge and specialized skills to implement technical solutions and provide high quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, or enterprise application software.
  • Determine when it is appropriate to deviate from a standard practice to accomplish the desired result.
  • Troubleshoot and solve straightforward problems that do not have defined SOPs.
  • Network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling and systems administration in a variety of software and hardware environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
  • Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
  • Manage local technical projects.
  • Maintain or create policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Identify root-causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Moving up to 49lbs as well as standing and walking during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Traveling up to 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in one or more IT related fields including networking, Linux administration, Microsoft administration, and/or Cisco network configuration and management
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment experience
  • 2+ years of networking (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP) experience
  • 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation experience
  • 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience

Qualifications

  • Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
  • Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

Schedule

Shifts lasting up to 12 hours, traveling up to 25% of the time.
