IT Support Assistant Hourly
GENERAL DUTIES
I.T. Support Assistants support routine operations and problem resolution of computing and/or communications functions at a College or Unit. They work in technical support, applications development, operations, help desk, and similar environments, as well as in the field where equipment may be located.
Work Tasks Include
- Operating, transporting, adjusting, and installing/configuring computing and related equipment
- Communicating with technology users and staff to understand, identify, document, and resolve problems
- Performing simple repairs to computing and related equipment
CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Reporting to the Manager of Test Scheduling and Administration. The IT Support Assistant Hourly will perform the following duties:
- Set up Testing sessions for all exams administered at the Test Center, retrieve data, and maintain the score database
- Set up computerized test sessions, access score reports, profiles, and troubleshoot exam issues, all affiliated with the test vendor
- Communicate with all test vendors and IT departments
- Maintain and update an Admissions Office database as needed
- Maintain and update the CUNYFirst test score screen
- Follow up on all data transmissions with quality control checks
- Update the various testing software as needed
- Disburse test data as needed by students, faculty, and staff
Skills
As a member of Testing Skills reporting to the Manager of Test Scheduling and Administration, you will provide support services, including but not limited to:
- Operating, transporting, adjusting, and installing/configuring computing and related equipment
- Communicating with technology users and staff to understand, identify, document, and resolve problems
- Performing simple repairs to computing and related equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
- Eighteen months of related full-time work experience or equivalent, such as completion of eighteen college credits in Information Technology
- Demonstrated English Language proficiency
- A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions
Compensation
- New Hire: $24.48/hour
- Incumbent: $27.68/hour
