Join a team built on innovation and purpose with the Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS). The 805th Combat Training Squadron (CTS) at Nellis Air Force Base (AFB) in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking a full-time Senior Network Administrator/Engineer to advance innovation and strengthen mission success.
Salary: $91,427 - $118,857 based on experience and qualifications. 20% telework may be authorized based on supervisory approval. Depending on the position, a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period may be required.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, modification, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Provide technical advice to senior leadership and technical assistance and training to organization personnel.
- Apply knowledge of network systems (LAN/WAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches to develop, test, install, operate, manage, and maintain network services.
- Utilize expertise in network architecture, interrelationships, operating modes, configuration topology, and protocols at base and enterprise levels.
- Troubleshoot network problems using network operating and maintenance concepts and methods.
- Apply complex configuration management techniques to manage base and enterprise-level network systems.
- Gather facts and use analytical methods to assess information, plan actions, make decisions, and solve network problems.
- Analyze component interrelationships and evaluate network systems and computer applications from an operational perspective.
- Maintain awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Top Secret” Security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Must obtain and maintain an Information Assurance certification (Level II Security+) within 6 months of assigned duties.
- Knowledge of network systems (LAN/WAN) design, network architecture, and protocols at base and enterprise levels.
- Ability to troubleshoot network problems and apply configuration management techniques.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills to evaluate and solve network issues.
