About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a full‑time IT Specialist (GG‑2210‑12) to serve in an operational capacity with the 91st Cyberspace Operations Squadron (COS) at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. The incumbent will perform assignments designed to orient operators into the area of Information Warfare, identifying and analyzing threats to USAF and DoD personnel, interests, and resources worldwide. This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) role aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25‑V2007, with a required 1‑year probationary period or 2‑year trial period depending on the selection.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Must possess a TS/SCI clearance
• Must sign a non‑disclosure agreement
• Drug Testing: Designated Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program
• Pre‑employment physical examination (condition of employment)
• Information Assurance Certification (Level I IAT) required within six months of assignment per DoD 8570.01‑M (waiver possible under specific provisions)

Knowledge and Skills

• Full range of network systems (LAN/WAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services.
• Understanding of Information Operations (IO) and the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces, focusing on intelligence and 91 COS Ops threat entities, operations, and capabilities.
• Familiarity with 91 COS Ops and U.S. intelligence community policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements for intelligence research planning, collection, target analysis, and related activities.
• Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of implications, and apply facts and estimates from numerous sources to varied technical problems.
