IT Specialist – Banking Industry / Bilingual Japanese

Our client, an established systems integrator and IT services company, is seeking an IT Specialist to provide application development and operational support for a financial institution in the United States. This role will develop, maintain, and support business applications and related databases to meet business and operational requirements. The position is based at the client’s Midtown Manhattan office with a hybrid schedule requiring two days per week in-office attendance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support business applications and related databases.
• Analyze business and operational requirements and assist in developing appropriate technical solutions.
• Perform application testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Provide ongoing production and operational support for business-critical applications.
• Create and maintain system specifications, operating procedures, and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate application changes, releases, deployments, and production implementation activities.
• Work closely with business users, IT teams, project teams, and external vendors.
• Support system implementation, application enhancement, maintenance, and operational improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes through automation and system enhancements.
• Follow application security, change management, and software development best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of application development experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience implementing or supporting business applications within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with one or more of the following technologies: C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET, Angular, React, Visual Studio, PowerShell, Salesforce, or Robotic Process Automation tools.
• Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with application testing, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
• Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating application change management and deployment activities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of financial instruments, wholesale banking, commercial lending, or market risk management.
• Experience with payment systems or financial messaging platforms, including SWIFT.
• Experience with SharePoint administration.
• Experience developing automation solutions using UiPath Studio or a similar RPA platform.
• Understanding of application security, access controls, and change management best practices.

Pay

Annual salary range: $70,000–$90,000.
