IT & Software Procurement & Sourcing Manager, VP
About the Role
We are seeking a VP of Software Sourcing to join State Street’s Global Procurement Team. This role is responsible for the preparation, analysis, negotiation, and finalization of the end-to-end procurement process for software and cloud engagements. You will support global, regional, and local category sourcing strategies while working with our global IT vendors.
The team plays a critical role in the organization’s success, helping institutional investors manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability. In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge, scalable solutions while building resilience and executing day-to-day deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct negotiations and manage large, complex agreements.
- Identify and deliver savings opportunities through stakeholder engagement and data analysis.
- Draft and negotiate Master License and Cloud agreements with Legal support.
- Negotiate IT security schedules with IT Security and Legal subject matter experts.
- Develop stakeholder relationships across Boston locations, including senior leadership, using a white-glove approach.
- Build vendor relationships with key Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and other critical vendors.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to financial objectives; collaborate with process partners to mitigate risks and realize opportunities.
- Contribute significantly to P&L and cost avoidance savings for the team.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for reducing the existing cost base.
- Coordinate, prepare, and manage RFx/competitive bids to optimize cost and service.
- Perform all duties in accordance with regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Quickly learn State Street’s end-to-end process to achieve savings and delivery results.
Requirements
- 10+ years of strategic sourcing experience in IT-related spend, with expertise in cloud software.
- Strong understanding of global IT vendors and their offerings.
- Proven track record of delivering P&L savings projects.
- Strong commercial skills to deliver cost-effective outcomes.
- Top-level negotiation skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally.
- Understanding of best-in-class procurement, risk, information security, and payable processes.
- Ability to work independently and within a team while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Personal resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage challenging stakeholders diplomatically.
- Strong presentation skills and a keen eye for detail.
Pay
Salary Range: $110,000 - $181,250 annually. The range applies to the primary location specified; if the role is based outside this location, the applicable range may differ.
