IT & Software Procurement & Sourcing Manager, VP
We are seeking a strategic and experienced VP of Software Sourcing to join State Street’s Global Procurement Team. This role is pivotal in managing the end-to-end procurement process for software and cloud engagements, driving cost savings, and fostering strong vendor relationships.
About the role
The VP of Software Sourcing will play a critical role in the success of our organization, supporting global, regional, and local category sourcing strategies while collaborating with IT vendors worldwide. You will help build resilience, execute day-to-day deliverables, and deliver cutting-edge, scalable solutions that align with our financial objectives.
Based in State Street’s John Adams Building in Quincy, Boston, you will engage with stakeholders across our Boston locations, employing a white-glove approach for senior leadership when needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct negotiations and manage large, complex software and cloud agreements.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through stakeholder engagement and data analysis.
- Draft and negotiate Master License and Cloud agreements with support from Legal.
- Negotiate IT security schedules in collaboration with IT Security and Legal subject matter experts.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Boston locations.
- Build and nurture vendor relationships with key Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and other critical vendors.
- Identify risks and opportunities tied to financial objectives, working with process partners to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Contribute significantly to P&L and cost avoidance savings for the team.
- Analyze data to uncover opportunities for reducing the existing cost base.
- Coordinate, prepare, and manage RFx/competitive bids to optimize cost and service.
- Ensure all duties comply with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Quickly learn State Street’s end-to-end procurement process to drive savings and deliver results.
Requirements
- 10+ years of strategic sourcing experience in IT-related spend, with demonstrable expertise in cloud software.
- Strong understanding of global IT vendors and their ecosystems.
- Proven track record of delivering P&L savings projects.
- Exceptional commercial skills with a focus on delivering cost-effective outcomes.
- Top-tier negotiation skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with best-in-class procurement, risk management, Information Security, and payable processes.
- Ability to work independently and within a team while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Personal resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
Salary range: $110,000 - $181,250 annually. The range applies to the primary location specified; if the role is based outside this location, the applicable range may differ.
