About the role

Gartner is seeking a well-rounded IT Program Manager to lead technology projects within the Consulting & Insights Technology organization. The role involves overseeing a complex portfolio of IT projects, ensuring quality, benefits realization, end-user satisfaction, and timely delivery, while managing geographically dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage global technology-based Project Portfolios supporting IT initiatives
  • Partner with technical leadership to report project progress to executive level and cross-team stakeholders
  • Leverage personal expertise to develop and present rational conclusions, recommendations, and direct implementation strategies
  • Analyze the scope and direction of initiatives across multiple levels of management and organizational boundaries
  • Act as a valued IT business partner to senior leadership, demonstrating strong business acumen and leadership experience
  • Manage project metrics using available tools to track health, analyze problems, identify root cause, create action plans, assess impact, and develop resolution options
  • Create long-term strategies and approaches to control and manage projects in support of complex business requirements
  • Develop and direct multiple sub-team project plans into a cohesive whole
  • Lead change management activities with support/service groups outside the project team to ensure successful project results
  • Direct project activities personally and with other project managers, development staff, and test engineers
  • Estimate, Plan, Design, Build, Test, and Migrate solutions into production
  • Guide and ensure the Agile/SCRUM methodologies are followed
  • Evaluate project and program performance consistently with key performance indicators
  • Handle Project Cost Management & financials including budget plans, monitor spend, and prepare for potential risks
  • Balance operational and development needs of work teams
  • Interact well with team members and stakeholders in resolving operational issues
  • Identify systemic operational issues and resolve them, presenting similar issues

Requirements

  • Strong IT professional with 10+ years of experience in program management
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • High on ownership and accountability
  • Experience running projects in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Strong leadership skills working with matrixed teams, management, and executive stakeholders in a dynamic, growth environment
  • Proven track record of acting as a valued IT business partner to senior leadership
  • Strong project leadership, adept at Product Backlog Refinement, Risk Management, Stakeholder Management, Agile Team Building across multiple global teams, Release Management, and Conflict Resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to understand client expectations and resolve issues affecting delivery
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, JIRA, and Confluence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, especially in communication, collaboration, people management, and influencing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple project deliverables
  • Critical thinking, with a strong aptitude for delivering quality products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to all levels of the organization

Pay

Reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 108,000 USD - 148,000 USD.
