About the Role
The purpose of this position is to assist in the maintenance of the integrity of the information systems network and related equipment, ensuring that these systems operate effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the USSRC.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining networking/computer hardware and related equipment to ensure effective and efficient operation. Duties include, but are not limited to, the accurate and timely installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of:
- Servers/Computers
- Printers and print servers
- Network Cards
- Computer Peripherals
- Assist in maintaining server/computer operating systems and troubleshoot user software problems.
- Assist in operating/maintaining the Center's IT Security Posture.
- Diagnose and repair server/computer hardware and software problems promptly to ensure minimal interruption of service to users.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Director of Information Systems for the accurate and timely completion of related tasks and assignments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Minimum of 1 year practical, demonstrated hands-on experience with computer operating systems (Windows, Mac) and computer software OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with Office365, Windows Accounts, Security Cameras, Wireless Networking, and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and set-up of PC hardware and software.
- A+ certifications preferred as a demonstration of computer hardware knowledge.
- Individuals working towards an associate degree in a computer or network-related field preferred.
Other Requirements
- Walking and climbing (stairs) to access other departments and buildings.
- Climbing and working on ladders to mount and/or install equipment or cable.
- Sitting for long periods of time (4-8 hours) at a desk.
- Carrying and lifting equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs waist high.
- Bending, kneeling, reaching to store/retrieve supplies, repair equipment.
- Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to operate computer terminal, repair computer equipment, handle documents.
- Talking, hearing to instruct employees, and communicating with service providers in person and over the telephone.
- Working in a climate-controlled office environment with occasional outdoor tasks.
- Extensive interaction with employees throughout the Rocket Center and service providers who provide technical support.
