Position Description
The IT Operations Engineer I role supports the stable operation of the operational region's network and end-user devices. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.
- Diagnosing, resolving, and documenting all hardware, software, and network issues, and providing end-user training and support.
Position Qualifications
- Formal Education & Certification: College diploma or university degree in computer science or related IT field, with 2+ years of equivalent work experience. Certifications in ITIL are preferred.
- Knowledge & Experience: Hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards; working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Services, Windows Server OS, Office 365, and VMware; some knowledge of network management and analysis tools; experience with Cisco technologies; knowledge of anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and network security measures; knowledge of data privacy practices and security; familiarity with construction industry software; good working knowledge of Microsoft software; telephony knowledge of Poly, Crestron, and AMX room AV systems.

Essential Duties
- Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with IT staff to create optimal network design topologies and configurations; assist in developing and implementing policies for end-user devices; respond to emergency network outages according to business continuity and disaster recovery plans; prepare and ensure the accuracy of documentation, procedures, manuals, and checklists for network installations.
- Procurement & Deployment: Support development and implementation of networking projects and new technology initiatives; conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards; evaluate and recommend for purchase networking hardware and software products; maintain up-to-date knowledge of networking contracts and supervise contract-based installations.
- Operational Management: Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products; assist the Tier 1 Service Desk in working with end users in the escalation of IT issues; maintain servers, security solutions, and all network and hardware equipment; monitor and test network performance; perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users; recommend and implement corrective hardware and/or software solutions; maintain proper end-user configuration, IT hardware inventory, licensing, and PC/end user onboarding and offboarding of all IT equipment including PC setup, troubleshooting, and security controls.
Physical Work Classification & Demands
Light Work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.
Compensation Range
$74,100.00 - $81,900.00
