IT Operations Engineer

About the Opportunity
This role is responsible for ensuring the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and infrastructure that support research and development activities. The position contributes to ongoing innovation and operational stability by enabling secure and well-maintained systems. It has significant impact by supporting core engineering infrastructure and collaborating across teams to resolve operational challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain hardware, software, and infrastructure
- Support R&D personnel, processes, and technology
- Participate in technical research and development to foster innovation
- Manage day-to-day infrastructure operations
- Develop automation tools and integrate IT services
- Follow change management processes
- Document system configurations and maintenance procedures
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to address operational issues
- Travel as needed for network troubleshooting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with Meraki network hardware and web interface
- Direct experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory management
- Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools such as Nagios, Splunk, CheckMK, or DataDog
- Basic understanding of network technologies and protocols
- Problem-solving skills for complex technical issues
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Tanium, Ansible, Python, Windows & Linux shell scripting
- Experience with Github Enterprise, Artifactory, Jenkins, Cloudflare
- Ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
