About the role
The IT Network Administrator III reports to the Director of Infrastructure and serves as a key member of the Network team, collaborating closely with Information Technology Services (ITS) leadership, senior administrations, academic leaders, and the campus community. This role advocates for North Carolina Central University’s overall network infrastructure, including advanced networking, communications, cabling, network security, and research infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Assist with developing network plans and budgets.
- Manage and maintain enterprise networks, cloud networking, virtualization, and enterprise communications.
- Work with emerging technologies to enhance network infrastructure.
- Collaborate directly with the Information Security department to provide access management and data security.
- Adopt a leadership approach that is engaging, innovative, and collaborative to balance infrastructure, security strategies, and campus priorities.

- Knowledgeable in enterprise networks, cloud networking, virtualization, and enterprise communications.
- Ability to work with a variety of emerging technologies.
- Sophisticated ability to collaborate with leaders to set infrastructure and security strategies.
