IT Manager

About the role
The Manager of Information Technology leads all IT activities for Amran, part of Standex Electronics Grid, a fast-growing manufacturing business. This role owns day-to-day IT operations, drives on-site modernization of the application portfolio (including a new ERP), maintains a strong IT control environment, and helps design the IT and OT foundation for a new plant. The ideal candidate is hands-on, a trusted advisor to business leaders, and skilled at translating business objectives into technology decisions while building IT literacy across the leadership team. The position is based in Sugar Land, TX and may require travel to other Standex sites.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Amran IT strategies and initiatives aligned with Standex and Standex Electronics objectives and business needs.
- Translate business objectives and growth plans into a coherent technology roadmap.
- Build IT literacy across the leadership team and serve as the IT voice at the table.
- Assess the current application landscape and create a prioritized IT modernization roadmap to replace legacy applications.
- Serve as the business unit lead for the enterprise ERP implementation: requirements definition, process design, data migration, integration architecture, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Own the systems integration architecture between the U.S. business and the affiliated India entity, including intercompany transactions, master data alignment, and supply chain visibility.
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including network administration, system maintenance, and user support.
- Manage security and availability of business applications specific to Electronics.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the company's IT infrastructure, including data protection, cybersecurity measures, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Lead the IT and OT scope for the new manufacturing facility: network design and segmentation, wireless coverage, shop-floor connectivity, MES/SCADA integration, and IT/OT security.
- Partner with plant leadership, engineering, and equipment vendors on OT platform selection, standards, and deployment.
- Design how OT data flows into enterprise systems (ERP, analytics) to deliver production capacity and usable operational data.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and systems to enhance productivity, efficiency, and innovation.
- Responsible for Amran internal audit, external audit (Deloitte), and management testing engagements.
- Implement Standex corporate IT policies and standards, including Enterprise IT controls.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide strategic guidance and support.
- Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to optimize costs and ensure timely delivery of IT services and solutions.
- Serve as an escalation point for service desk tickets or overflow, if necessary.
- Follow all safety and security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with a proven track record of leading successful IT teams and projects.
- Prior ownership of a tier-1 ERP implementation as business unit lead or program lead (Oracle Fusion, SAP S/4HANA, or equivalent), through go-live and stabilization.
- Demonstrated experience with IT controls and SOx compliance.
- Direct experience with IT/OT convergence in the context of a plant build, major expansion, or greenfield facility.
- Strong technical background in administration of networking, cybersecurity, Windows servers, PCs, and Office 365.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of IT best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic IT plans that align with business goals and drive innovation and growth.
- Experience and temperament to handle highly confidential information/material.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills.
- Experience managing the integration of new acquisitions into IT infrastructure.
