Job Summary

The IT Manager ensures the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the organization’s business objectives. This role plans, coordinates, directs, and designs IT‑related activities, provides administrative direction, and supports daily operational activities. The manager works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost‑effective technology solutions, and defines and implements IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT Department operational and strategic planning, fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating resource allocation.
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and systems.
• Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
• Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
• Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures (architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, service provision).
• Develop requests for proposal and negotiate/ administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
• Manage deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems (servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals).
• Oversee provision of end‑user services, including help desk and technical support.
• Work with partners to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
• Direct research on potential technology solutions to support procurement efforts.
• Stay current with the latest technologies.
• Approve and oversee projects and the project portfolio.
• Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
• Manage IT staffing (recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, disciplinary actions).
• Establish and maintain regular written and in‑person communications with executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
• Provide on‑call availability as needed.

Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of server virtualization platforms, including VMware.
• Strong technical knowledge of remote access technology, including Citrix XenApp, Microsoft Terminal Services, and VPN.
• Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including all Microsoft Server and Windows OS.
• Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including Cisco network and security appliances and Dell hardware.
• Extensive application support experience with CCH ProSystem Suite, Thomson Reuters CheckPoint, and other accounting‑related applications (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, Lacert).
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• In‑depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Strong understanding of project management principles.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years IT experience.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.

Schedule

40 hours per week plus overtime; exempt (FLSA status).
