About the role
The IT Manager oversees day-to-day IT operations in partnership with managed service providers and internal stakeholders, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient technology services across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day IT operations in close partnership with Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
- Serve as the primary operational liaison between business stakeholders and MSP partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Monitor service levels, incidents, escalations, and resolution performance to maintain operational continuity and high-quality service delivery.
- Coordinate operational support for endpoint management, network and connectivity, cloud infrastructure and services, backup and disaster recovery systems, user provisioning and access management, and cybersecurity monitoring and remediation support.
- Provide operational ownership and administration of enterprise business applications, including Procore, Foundation, Tekla-related ecosystems, reporting platforms, analytics tools, and collaboration platforms.
- Manage software licensing, user access controls, application support, vendor relationships, and change management processes for enterprise applications.
- Ensure enterprise applications maintain stable performance, strong usability, and alignment with business needs and processes.
- Cook up user training, system adoption efforts, and documentation for supported systems to drive effective and consistent usage.
- Execute technology initiatives and projects aligned with the enterprise IT roadmap established by executive leadership.
- Cook up cross-functional projects involving operations, estimating, fabrication, finance, and field teams in a project-based construction environment.
- Support project activities including planning and scheduling, resource coordination, risk and dependency tracking, status reporting, testing, and cutover support.
- Manage vendor and consultant performance, ensuring accountability to service expectations, contractual commitments, and agreed service levels.
- Support execution of IT governance standards, policies, procedures, and operational controls across the technology environment.
- Maintain comprehensive technology documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge repositories.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process standardization, and operational efficiency improvements within IT operations and enterprise applications.
- Prepare operational dashboards, KPI reporting, and status updates for review by executive leadership.
- Support IT budgeting, forecasting, and technology planning initiatives in alignment with business priorities.
- Build scalable operational processes and documentation standards to support future organizational growth and expansion.
- Respond promptly to internal customers with professional, solution-oriented communication and follow-through.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support company growth, operational success, and evolving technology needs.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience with increasing operational responsibility.
- At least 8 years of experience managing enterprise applications and IT operations environments.
- Experience working within MSP-supported environments and managing MSP relationships.
- Strong project coordination and vendor management experience.
- Solid understanding of IT operations and service delivery in complex environments.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure and cloud support.
- Experience in enterprise application management, including business-critical platforms.
- Knowledge of technology governance and operational controls.
- Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and operational best practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Able to work independently while remaining aligned to executive direction and business priorities.
- Exposure to the construction field or MEP for construction, particularly project-based environments.
- Exposure to Procore in a production or operational setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting construction accounting systems, including Foundation or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting ERP platforms in a multi-functional business environment.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and compliance controls.
- Experience leading operational improvement and systems optimization initiatives.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Procore, Microsoft, or related credentials.
