Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the IT Junior Systems Administrator supports the organization’s IT infrastructure by resolving escalated technical issues and assisting with daily operations across software systems, networks, and servers.

Responsibilities

  • Work in compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations; report hazards or infractions to the Health and Safety Department.
  • Maintain a tidy and clean IT office and server room.
  • Assist with Active Directory administration (user accounts, groups, GPOs, OU structure).
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and licensing.
  • Perform routine system health checks and escalate issues as needed.
  • Manage workstation deployments, imaging, and updates using tools such as Intune or SCCM.
  • Maintain antivirus, endpoint protection, and device compliance policies.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues escalated from Tier 2 support in line with SLAs.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
  • Support firewall, switch, and access-point configurations under senior guidance.
  • Help maintain security best practices, including MFA, password policies, and access controls.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades and small-scale implementation projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Contribute to knowledge-base articles for internal IT use.
  • Occasional travel to project sites and offices.
  • Monitor the work of third-party suppliers.

Requirements

  • College degree or diploma.
  • 2 years’ experience.
  • Microsoft Certification.

Skills & Abilities

  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and system issues independently.
  • Good understanding of Windows OS and Windows Server fundamentals.
  • Strong networking knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Experience working with endpoint management tools.
  • Good understanding of security best practices.
  • Experience with Azure AD and cloud identity platforms.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiar with scripting.
