Junior Systems Administrator

Onsite 5 Days/Week Contract-to-Hire / Full-Time Occasional travel to support remote sites Can not support corp to corp at this time Overview We are seeking a motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in systems administration while gaining hands-on experience supporting enterprise server, virtualization, and network environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with Active Directory , Windows Server administration , VMware or Hyper-V , and basic networking concepts such as DNS and DHCP . We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Support the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environmentsCreate, modify, and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Active DirectoryAssist with Group Policy administration and troubleshootingSupport virtualized infrastructure utilizing VMware and/or Hyper-VPerform system patching and routine maintenance activitiesMonitor and verify backup jobs and assist with disaster recovery testingSupport core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, and certificate servicesTroubleshoot server, network, and connectivity issuesAssist with the deployment and setup of infrastructure equipment, including switches and access pointsMonitor system and network health using various monitoring toolsMaintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, and infrastructure recordsManage incidents, service requests, and asset tracking through ticketing systemsParticipate in team projects and infrastructure initiativesProvide occasional onsite support at remote locationsParticipate in after-hours maintenance activities and on-call rotations as needed Required Qualifications 1-3 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems administration, or technical operationsExperience with Active Directory user and group managementBasic understanding of Group PolicyExperience supporting Windows Server environmentsExposure to VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-VUnderstanding of networking fundamentals, including:TCP/IPDNSDHCPNetwork troubleshootingExperience with backup and recovery processesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to work onsite five days per weekAbility to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting with infrastructure deployments Preferred Qualifications Experience with PowerShell scriptingExposure to monitoring tools and system health dashboardsKnowledge of DFS and certificate servicesExperience working with backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or similar platformsCloud exposure (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Server+, Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent What We're Looking For Strong desire to learn and grow within infrastructure and systems administrationSelf-motivated and proactive mindsetExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentPassion for technology and troubleshooting complex issues If you're looking to build your career in Systems Administration and gain exposure to enterprise infrastructure technologies, we'd love to hear from you! Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pompano Beach, FL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
