General Position Summary Lids is seeking a highly motivated and innovative IT Intern – AI & Intelligent Automation to join our growing AI organization. This internship offers hands-on experience working on real-world Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Agentic AI, Data Science, and Microsoft Power Platform initiatives that directly support retail, eCommerce, supply chain, merchandising, and corporate operations. The intern will work alongside Data Scientists, AI Engineers, Power Platform Developers, Solution Architects, and business leaders to help design, build, test, and support intelligent solutions that drive automation, improve decision-making, and enhance associate productivity across the enterprise. Principal Duties And Responsibilities Artificial Intelligence & Agent Development Assist in the design, development, and testing of AI-powered solutions utilizing Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, OpenAI technologies, and emerging AI platforms.Support the creation, configuration, and evaluation of intelligent agents that automate business processes.Help document agent use cases, workflows, prompts, and business outcomes.Participate in testing and validation of AI-generated responses and automation results.Research emerging AI trends and provide recommendations for potential business applications. Machine Learning & Data Science Assist with data preparation, cleansing, transformation, and analysis activities.Support development and testing of machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions.Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.Help create visualizations and reports that communicate analytical findings to business stakeholders.Participate in model validation and performance monitoring activities. Microsoft Power Platform Assist with the development and enhancement of Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Copilot-powered solutions.Help document business requirements and automation opportunities.Support testing and deployment activities for low-code applications.Work with technical and business teams to identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation. Data & Analytics Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to support data-driven decision making.Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and KPI tracking tools.Participate in data quality assessments and documentation efforts.Support enterprise initiatives leveraging Microsoft Fabric and modern analytics platforms. Innovation & Continuous Learning Contribute ideas for improving business processes through AI and automation.Participate in hackathons, proof-of-concept projects, and innovation initiatives.Stay informed on advancements in AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Automation.Present findings, research, and project outcomes to team members and leadership. Job Required Knowledge And Skills For consideration to participate in the internship program, an applicant must have a 3.0 minimum GPA and be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or higher degree in a IT-related field at an accredited college/university or attending an accredited 2-year college/university. A selected student must be present for the duration of the internship from 06/01/2026 to 07/31/2026. This internship is full on-site at our corporate office in Indianapolis. If not local, you must be willing to relocate to the Indianapolis area for the summer. Expected to graduate between December of 2027 and May 2028 (Junior Status).
