IT Intern

About the role
The IT Department supports technology, systems, data, and digital solutions that enable Group 1’s business operations while driving innovation, efficiency, security, and continuous improvement. This internship provides hands‑on experience within the technology organization of a large, publicly traded company, working alongside IT leadership and cross‑functional partners on programming, data analytics, compliance, automation, and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Support programming tasks and contribute to development work on IT initiatives.
- Assist with compliance‑related documentation, reviews, and process validation.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data for ongoing analytics projects.
- Collaborate with the Director of IT and cross‑functional team members on technology initiatives, utilizing modern tech stacks and robotic process automation (RPA) tools to support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
- Foundational programming or coding skills with familiarity in modern technology stacks and a willingness to continue learning and expanding technical skills.
- Strong coachability with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
