About the role

The IT Installation Service Technician is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of IT and network infrastructure at customer locations nationwide. This hands-on role involves working with network equipment, cabling, hardware, and technology systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, and upgrade IT, network, and communications equipment
  • Perform structured cabling and hardware installation activities
  • Read and interpret project documentation, technical drawings, and installation specifications
  • Configure and connect equipment according to installation standards
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and assist with system testing
  • Coordinate daily activities with project managers, team members, and customer representatives
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure work meets company and customer requirements
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and service records
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience installing or supporting IT, network, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems
  • Experience working with network infrastructure, structured cabling, or technology deployments
  • Ability to read technical drawings and installation documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Michigan Chauffeur's License
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a DOT Medical Card
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays during the work week
  • Ability to lift equipment and work in various installation environments

Travel

Monday–Friday | Nationwide Travel Required

Compensation

$25–$29/hour based on experience
Overtime opportunities available
$155/day travel per diem
