About the role
The IT Installation Service Technician is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of IT and network infrastructure at customer locations nationwide. This hands-on role involves working with network equipment, cabling, hardware, and technology systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Install, remove, and upgrade IT, network, and communications equipment
- Perform structured cabling and hardware installation activities
- Read and interpret project documentation, technical drawings, and installation specifications
- Configure and connect equipment according to installation standards
- Troubleshoot installation issues and assist with system testing
- Coordinate daily activities with project managers, team members, and customer representatives
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure work meets company and customer requirements
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and service records
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience installing or supporting IT, network, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems
- Experience working with network infrastructure, structured cabling, or technology deployments
- Ability to read technical drawings and installation documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and reporting tools
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to obtain or maintain a Michigan Chauffeur's License
- Ability to obtain or maintain a DOT Medical Card
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays during the work week
- Ability to lift equipment and work in various installation environments

Travel

Compensation
$25–$29/hour based on experience
Overtime opportunities available
$155/day travel per diem
