About the role
The IT Installation Technician l position at Nomad Global Communications Solutions is an entry-level role requiring a US citizen and compliance with Federal Contractor employee requirements. This position is full-time and part of the IT Integration department within the Operations division. The role involves the accurate installation and configuration of IT-related hardware as per CAD and engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret CAD and IT Engineering Cable Pull Sheets for accurate installation.
- Complete rough-ins for cable installation.
- Execute cable pulls.
- Terminate cables appropriately.
- Install data racks according to specifications.
- Build and install rack shelves.
- Install equipment, ensuring proper setup and stability.
- Terminate and test data, audio, and radio cables at data rack locations, ensuring system integrity.
- Perform basic soldering tasks.
- Install workstation faceplates.
- CAD drawings, install camera mounts and assist in the installation of roof hardware, including antennas and satellite systems.
- Learn, understand, and perform electrical pull sheets, wiring diagrams, electrical concepts, processes, and theories of 120VAC and 12VDC.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Basic Knowledge Desired
- Basic understanding of computers and electronics, particularly multiband radios, A/V systems.
- Basic soldering ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to understand and accurately follow detailed technical instructions and diagrams.
- Demonstrated strong team-oriented and responsible behaviors, contributing positively to collaborative work settings.
Physical Demands
- Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.
- Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
- Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods.
Working Environment
- Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.
- Occasional outdoor work required.
- Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.
- Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.
- Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.
- Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
- A high school diploma or GED; further education in a technical field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or IT-related setting preferred.
- A valid driver’s license in good standing.
