IT Infrastructure Manager
Petra Construction Corporation, a distinguished building construction firm established in 1953 and based in North Haven, CT, is seeking a highly hands-on senior IT infrastructure professional to take ownership of our technology environment.
About the role
This is not primarily a staff-management or vendor-management position. The successful candidate will personally administer and troubleshoot our Windows Server, Active Directory/DNS, VMware ESXi, on-premise Exchange, networking, firewall, backup, and business systems. This position serves as the company's senior technical escalation point and requires the ability to independently diagnose and resolve infrastructure problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. High school diploma/GED required.
- Experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, on-premise VMware/ESXi virtualization, TCP/IP networking, on-premise Microsoft Exchange, DNS, DHCP, firewall, and enterprise backup systems.
- Experience supporting mobile devices and corporate cell phone environments, including mobile device management (MDM) platforms and wireless carrier management.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, virtualization technologies, and enterprise hardware platforms.
- Microsoft, VMware, or related industry certifications preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively during system outages or emergencies.
- Connecticut residence is required. We do not offer relocation assistance.
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position with occasional travel to CT project job sites as required. The position may require after-hours or weekend availability for system maintenance or emergency support.
