IT Infrastructure Engineer IV, Database

About the Role

This position involves supporting IRIS databases on Linux, both on-premises and in the cloud, that underpin critical healthcare systems. The role encompasses designing and building stable, recoverable database systems, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and security within a complex enterprise environment. It also involves supporting enterprise initiatives, recommending solutions, and providing technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, upgrade, apply patches, and manage security for IRIS databases.
• Resolve incidents and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with vendors and use tools like Tivoli Workload Scheduler.
• Support business projects, ensuring compliance with procedures, and solve complex problems.
• Promote self and team development, foster cross-functional relationships, and adapt to change.
• Design and deliver resilient cloud-based and on-premise solutions using DEVOPS and Agile practices.
• Collaborate with IT teams and business partners to develop plans, troubleshoot, and ensure system scalability and security.
• Evaluate systems, provide technical recommendations, and lead enterprise infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum three years in security solutions.
• Two years in security technology configuration and troubleshooting.
• One year in a technical leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience with at least six years in IT operations.
