About the Role

The IT Implementation Engineer I is an entry-to-mid-level technical role supporting clients across various industries, including financial services, healthcare, SMB, and more. This position focuses on executing defined project implementation tasks and completing technical deliverables through an agreed-upon scope of work as part of a larger project team. This role will collaborate closely with other engineers, client account specialists, and project management teams to provide on-time, high-quality project delivery while continuing to build technical and project execution skills in preparation for advancement to higher-level engineering roles.

Responsibilities

  • Execute project tasks by understanding quoted solutions designed to achieve the client’s desired outcomes, and identify and resolve problems as they arise
  • Act as a resource for other IT staff as needed, ensuring customer needs and project efforts are fulfilled
  • Stage and test equipment for installations
  • Provide remote support for remote installations
  • Provide phone support for Field Service Technicians performing on-site installations
  • Participate in calls and meetings regarding technical project deliverables and due dates
  • Communicate ongoing project status related to assigned tasks with project management
  • Occasional travel to customer locations and perform systems installation within the Greater Omaha area
  • Meet all attendance requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience supporting technical implementations, projects, or customer environments
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the following categories:
    • Local and wide area networking including networking equipment
    • Windows Server and Desktop operating systems
    • Computer hardware, including desktop and laptop computers and servers
  • Ability to periodically work evenings and/or weekends

  • Workstations and End-User Computing
  • Networking Fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, basic firewall concepts, switching and wireless networking)
  • Cloud and Hosted Solutions (Office 365, Azure, Google Workspace, AWS, etc.)
  • Storage Solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.)
  • Virtualization experience (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery (preferred product experience – Axcient, Datto, VEEAM, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
  • Security Fundamentals
  • Documentation, Listening, and Communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, placing on benches and shelves and in client environments
  • Seldom lift more than 50 lbs (requires two people)
