About the role
This individual shall be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The IT Help Desk Support is responsible for handling various technology issues related to a transit environment and supporting corporate infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide Trapeze software direction, desktop, server and network support for client operations according to Service Level Agreements (SLA), including desktop and server repair, network maintenance, helpdesk tickets, disaster recovery and other projects as assigned
- Support analog, digital, or VOIP telephone systems, T-1, fax and DSL lines
- Support local technologies related to transit operations, such as Mobile Data Terminals (MDT)/in-vehicle tablets, and Trapeze reservation software platform
- Manage servers at local division: domain controller, file, application and database (MS SQL Server)
- Meet and interact with client agencies providing reports and updates for local divisional office; close interaction with the client’s IT department
- Manage complex IT projects, IT employees and outside vendors
- Develop strategic operations and investment plans that weigh costs, benefits, opportunities and risks of various IT investment approaches
- Control and minimize costs
- Ensure suitable documentation exists and is maintained for IT operations and software development
Qualifications
- Highly proficient with Trapeze transit software and other transportation-related applications
- Proficiency with Active Directory and networking
- Proficiency with the company’s major IT systems, services and technology frameworks (e.g., cloud computing, server virtualization, application delivery controller)
- Thorough understanding of computers, servers, network, printer and peripheral hardware
- Experience supporting Windows 10–11, Server 2012 & 2016, and Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in desktop imaging methodologies
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Experience with desktop, server and network management tools
- Experience with basic network devices including switches
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery
Pay
Starting pay rate: $37.80 – $40.95/hour
