City of Ocala Ocala, FL United States This is an entry-level technical, semi-skilled, and labor-intensive position. The role of this position is essential in our organization's geospatial data management by focusing on office duties that leverage GIS, CAD, and data information systems, with a primary emphasis on electrical facilities documentation in the field. This role involves physically visiting sites to record detailed information on electrical infrastructure, including poles, lines, substations, and other utility assets. The objective is to ensure accurate mapping and analysis for utility management, planning, and operational efficiency. Education And Experience High School graduate or GED required. Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) in cartography, computer science, or related field preferred Certificate in Geographic Information Systems preferred. Two years practical experience with AutoCAD or GIS is preferred. Course work in engineering, CAD (computer aided design), GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and a strong knowledge of computers is highly desirable.
