About the role
At TelCom Construction, as an GIS Analyst, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and training of the Company’s Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities. This role can be based in our Clearwater, MN, office.
Responsibilities
- Aid in designing, operating, and maintaining the Company’s Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Ensure the GIS system is efficient and up-to-date, incorporating advances in technology and software as necessary.
- Analyze spatial data using mapping software.
- Provide GIS technical assistance to all departments.
- Create digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.
- Convert physical maps into digital forms for computer usage.
- Offer GIS training to Company departments and GIS operators.
- Collaborate with other departments to establish standards, protocols, and conventions, reviewing completed work for compliance.
- Design, troubleshoot, and automate spatial data transformation and ETL workflows using FME (Feature Manipulation Engine).
- Utilize FME to manage, clean, and integrate diverse datasets (including spatial, non-spatial, and CAD formats), ensuring seamless data automation across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States for this company.
- Associate’s degree specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or equivalent work experience required.
- Experience using Safe Software’s FME platform (such as FME Desktop and FME Server) for data mapping, workflow automation, and systems integration.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS or other equivalent GIS platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret graphs, charts, diagrams, air photos, and maps.
- Knowledge of reading and writing technical documents and manuals.
- Skills in digitizing, plotting, and drafting techniques, as well as data collection using GPS equipment.
- Experience with basic GIS and Windows operations, and internet mapping technology is preferred.
- Effective, respectful, and professional written and verbal communication skills.

- Familiarity with Google-based applications such as G-mail, Google Docs, and Sheets is strongly preferred.

Pay
The wage range for GIS IT Analyst is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00.
