IT Finance Business Analyst
About the role
The IT Finance Business Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the development of the IT Business Management framework, aligning IT Financials to IT delivery and business objectives. This role bridges technology and finance, helping stakeholders understand the financial implications of IT strategies, investments, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Solidify the IT Business Management framework, ensuring alignment with IT delivery and business objectives.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Monitor and analyze IT operating and capital expenditures, including variance analysis for hardware, software, personnel, third-party labor, and other specific expenditures.
- Support cost allocation models across departments for IT services.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for IT Business Management leader, IT leadership, and Corporate Finance.
- Aid in vendor invoice processing, contract analysis, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Support business case development for new IT initiatives or investments.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to support IT strategy decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of experience in finance or accounting in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Proficiency in financial management tools such as Excel, SAP, or Oracle Financials.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in IT finance or within a technology environment.
- Good understanding of financial management concepts (e.g., CapEx vs Opex).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior proven ability to develop and exercise project plans with minimal supervision.
Benefits
The position follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN or Austin, TX. Travel may include up to 5% domestic/international. Relocation assistance is not authorized. The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
