IT Field Tech

Waste Connections has an immediate opening for an IT Field Technician based in Knoxville, TN. This role supports IT/Telecom equipment across TN, KY, GA, & AL locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 1 and 2 level support for workstations, including handling after-hour calls as assigned.
• Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networking.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office Suite, PC and laptop hardware.
• Maintain phone systems at multiple locations.
• Microsoft Windows end-user configuration (profiles, printers, application configuration).
• Cisco router installation and configuration.
• iPad, iPhone/Android device configuration, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Physical installation of security camera systems, IT closets, routers, switches, patch panels, and audio/video equipment.
• Software configuration of routers, switches, computers, phones, and audio/video equipment.

Requirements

• Coverage of field locations across multiple sites, requiring up to 50% travel including overnight stays.
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least four of the following areas:
  • Windows 11
  • WYSE Winterms
  • Citrix Server
  • Telecom and VoIP phones
  • AV – conference rooms and TVs
  • Printers / PC laptop / desktop support
  • Cisco / Meraki Routers / General Networking

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science OR related field experience.
• 2 years or more of Network Administration OR willingness to learn.
• Experience working with Microsoft O365 and Office Applications.
• Independent worker with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication, customer service, and time management skills.
• Self-motivated with a customer-first mentality.

Pay

$50,000+ DOE

Schedule

Monday–Friday, occasional Saturdays. Starts at 8am.
