IT Director, Global

We are partnering with a Global Manufacturing client in the east metro to identify a seasoned IT Director. This role will focus on optimizing IT infrastructure, enhancing cybersecurity resilience, and leading the IT PMO with strong governance to modernize the established enterprise environment. You will play a key role in fostering collaboration across US, UK, EU, and APAC teams, ensuring maximum value from legacy systems while strategically integrating cloud efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Optimize IT infrastructure and refine the IT operations model.
• Coordinate and govern MSP/MSSP relationships.
• Enhance network performance and operational excellence.
• Establish and lead the IT PMO and governance frameworks.
• Drive cost control, efficiency, and risk mitigation initiatives.
• Manage communication and stakeholder engagement across global teams.
• Act as an internal technical lead for incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Oversee helpdesk operations with ITIL processes and KPI reporting.
• Lead IT project management with a focus on execution, timelines, and budget adherence.
• Manage the Change Control Board process for new IT requests and platform implementations.

Requirements

• Experience: 12+ years in IT, with a proven track record managing enterprise-scale legacy environments and global teams.
• Systems: Deep expertise in Windows/Linux Server environments, legacy database management, and hybrid cloud vendor selection/cost optimization.
• Networking: Strong background in traditional switching, routing, vendor selection, and monitoring.
• Optimization: Demonstrated ability to reduce OpEx through system tuning and vendor negotiation.
• Cybersecurity: Experience with frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and CY-as-a-service models for selecting and monitoring security offerings.
• Providers: Experience with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), control/KPI management, and escalations.
• PMO: Proficiency in IT project management principles, ensuring on-time, under-budget delivery with high engagement and enforcement.
• Governance: Implement checklists for new IT platforms/services and manage the Change Control Board process.
