Remote work must be performed while residing in California, New Mexico, Florida, or Massachusetts. CIAT has campus locations in San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM. This is a non-exempt, variable-hour position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams, with flexibility for evenings and weekends based on the course schedule.
  • Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement, ensuring alignment with CIAT’s adult learner framework and certification readiness.
  • Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter in a synchronous online format.
  • Maintain current certifications in subjects taught through renewal and demonstrate thorough, accurate knowledge of the field.
  • Stay current in subject matter through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, and attendance at meetings, conferences, or workshops.
  • Design, update, and align course materials with college standards for adult learners, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Review course material for accuracy and relevance, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure the student database is fully updated and accurate regarding attendance and grade records.
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation, instructional quality, scheduled class hours, and CIAT policies and procedures.
  • Promote collaboration with staff and participate in new projects or initiatives.
  • Adhere to CIAT’s business casual attire policy.
  • Maintain FERPA compliance and handle student data securely.

Requirements

  • Appropriate certification in one or more of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a training setting, ideally delivering IT certification bootcamps.
  • Advanced subject matter expertise preferred.
  • Synchronous online teaching experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in curriculum development and instructional design for IT certification bootcamps.
  • Familiarity with CertMaster, TestOut, or similar training tools is preferred.
  • Effective presentation skills and high level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and learning technologies such as Canvas.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multitask effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with a sense of urgency while collaborating with colleagues.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects diversity.
  • Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and didactic approaches in higher education.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compliance with all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including academic integrity and student conduct.

Pay

$41 - $44 USD per hour.

Schedule

This is a variable-hour position. Days and hours of work are usually Monday through Friday, but weekend hours may be required. Live bootcamp classes will be scheduled Monday through Friday or on Saturdays and Sundays for 8 hours per day. Class times are to be determined.

Work Environment

This is a remote position to be performed in a home office environment. Employees must maintain a safe and ergonomic workspace, ensure data security and confidentiality, and use secure connections for all work-related activities. The company is not responsible for maintaining home office environments beyond reasonable accommodations and necessary work-related equipment.
