About the role
The IT Audio and Visual Technician supports all Audio and Visual hardware and software for courtrooms across Idaho. The position involves helping desk tickets, new courtroom installs, remodeling, and Court Reporter Support hardware installs. The technician is based in Boise and must be fully onsite, with occasional travel to all 44 counties.
Responsibilities
- Supports courtroom processes and ensures problem solutions match user needs.
- Collaborates with IT leadership and district court leadership to prioritize tasks and provide end-user support.
- Installs, configures, and troubleshoots standard user computing hardware, printers, and peripherals.
- Coordinates training sessions with court clerks, judges, and assistants.
- Installs, configures, and maintains software on courtroom computers.
- Works with IT colleagues to assist in equipment shipments, receivables, and surplus equipment processing.
- Updates and maintains the inventory system with serialized asset information.
- Collaborates with IT staff to test, troubleshoot, and validate new hardware and applications.
- Attends meetings as required.
Requirements
- Three years of IT and A/V support experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with power tools and networking tools.
- Experience troubleshooting Audio and Visual equipment, including Bi-Amps, Amplifiers, Microphones, and Speakers.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Desktops, Monitors, and Software.
- Experience troubleshooting with Microsoft Windows 10/11.
- Knowledge of court processes and court information systems preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to prioritize and address customer questions and trouble tickets based on customer needs and impacts.
- Ability to travel throughout the state as needed.
Qualifications
- Highly desired: Two years of experience with courtroom audio and visual and For The Record Software.
- Nice to have: One year of basic network (wired and wireless) configuration and troubleshooting including ping and trace route.
