About the role
As a volunteer, you will assist Gaithersburg HELP in providing essential support to local communities. Our organization is made up of all-volunteer members and we are currently seeking a volunteer to handle technical needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist with technical tasks involving systems and applications used for daily operations.
- Work with Microsoft Excel (including formulas and macros).
- Work with Google Apps Script.
- Work with Git and version control.
- Work with Google Maps API.
- Work with ArcGIS.
- Have basic understanding of networking and Windows computer management.
- Handle Voicemail and mailbox administration.
Requirements
We seek a volunteer who lives in Montgomery County, Maryland and is interested in helping our communities. While not every candidate will have expertise in all these areas, we highly value those with technical and programming skills and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have technical knowledge and good communication skills. They should be responsive and able to contribute meaningfully to our programs and impact the communities we serve.
Skills
- Experience or interest in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and macros).
- Experience or interest in VBA.
- Experience or interest in Google Apps Script.
- Experience or interest in Git and version control.
- Experience or interest in Google Maps API.
- Experience or interest in ArcGIS.
- Basic understanding of networking and Windows computer management.
- Experience or interest in Voicemail and mailbox administration.

Schedule
This is an on-demand opportunity. Occasional onsite tech help may be required, so we are seeking candidates living in Montgomery County, Maryland.
