General Overview
We are seeking an IT Asset Manager to support a large-scale enterprise environment, partnering with project teams, technical resources, and client stakeholders to manage and maintain technology assets across multiple facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate asset and inventory records, supporting asset lifecycle activities, and ensuring established service levels and program standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage asset add, move, and change activities, including updates to support groups, approval groups, locations, and other asset information.
- Coordinate and identify appropriate maintenance windows across facilities and business groups.
- Validate Cisco SmartNet coverage, track renewal dates, and establish alerts for upcoming renewals.
- Monitor software and technology licensing, including validation, renewal tracking, and notification processes.
- Review inventory records for aging or outdated discovery dates and investigate discrepancies.
- Research and resolve missing assets, incorrect device statuses, and inaccurate asset information.
- Coordinate with field engineering teams to ensure retired equipment is properly transferred to designated stock rooms.
- Submit and manage tickets related to hostname corrections and perform quality checks on device data.
- Partner with support teams to troubleshoot MIB and payload-processing issues.
- Work with firewall and technical support teams to resolve SNMP configuration issues.
- Collaborate with technical teams to establish processes for newly introduced device types.
- Reconcile inventory information across monitoring, ITSM, and other asset management platforms to maintain consistent records.
- Update asset information and processes as needed to support regulatory requirements, including PCI-related requirements.
- Investigate newly discovered network equipment and escalate findings to the appropriate teams for direction.
- Partner with resolver groups to design and improve asset management workflows.
- Apply continuous improvement practices to technology spend management and CMDB asset tracking throughout the full asset lifecycle.
- Maintain the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of CMDB data.
- Provide logistical support related to asset tracking, tagging, inventory, and movement.
- Participate in client meetings related to managed network infrastructure assets as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between client stakeholders and OEM partners when escalations arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of experience in IT Asset Management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Experience working with ITSM platforms.
- Previous asset tracking and/or logistics experience.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking products and technologies.
Pay
$40 - $45/hr (Compensation can vary depending on experience)
